Tim Burgess and Co are set to top the bill on the Saturday (29 August) night of the Aberdeenshire
event following a set from punk legends Buzzcocks.
Speaking about the confirmations, festival organiser Roy Thain said: "We are delighted to have
secured great bands like The
Charlatans and The Buzzcocks
to top the bill for Saturday night at Wizard.
"This year we intend to mix it up a bit, and provide
a diverse and exciting programme of music that will appeal to everyone. Feedback from fans over the last two years has
been fantastic, and, where possible, we are building our line-up on what the fans have asked for.
"It's
a real coup for Wizard, and it proves how far we have come in just two years. We have worked hard to keep the profile
of the festival high, and it has paid off in terms of the high calibre of acts we can now secure year on year."
No other names have been confirmed as yet, with more expected in the coming months.
Wizard Festival 2009 will take place at New Deer, Peterhead from
28-29 August.
Tickets are on sale now priced at £70 for the weekend.

The festival will have three stages of music with emerging
acts housed in an acoustic tipi. Onsite there will be food stalls, shopping area, a fairground, plenty of campervan space
and, so organisers promise, loads of portaloos.
