The 'Rehab' star was set to play her first festival show since her shambolic performance at Bestival 2008,
but American authorities have turned down her request to enter the country due to assault charges.
The singer will
appear in court next Tuesday for allegedly punching a fan.
Speaking about the cancellation, the singer's spokesperson
told The Mirror: "[Amy Winehouse] is not appearing at Coachella this year in the light of current
legal issues."
Coachella 2009 will take place at Empire Polo Field,
California from 17-19 April.
Winehouse has no other upcoming festival appearances confirmed as
yet.
