More names for The Great Escape

The Maccabees, The Brute Chorus and more

The Maccabees and The Brtue Chorus are among the latest names confirmed for The Great Escape.

Texan rockers White Denim, the ethereal School Of Seven Bells and iPod advert group Chairlift will also appear at the Brighton based bash alongside James Yuill, Boxer Rebellion and The Mae Shi.

Abe Vigoda, DM Stith and Fan Death have also been confirmed along with Heartbreak, Magic Magic, We Were Promised Jetpacks, The XX and Hot Silk Pockets.

Other names announced today include Casiokids, Ulterior, Rainbow Arabia, Harry’s Gym, Three Trapped Tigers and The Week That Was as well as Skint And Demoralised, Trailer Trash Tracy’s, Dan Black and The New Wine.

Rodney Fisher, Futurecop!, Rogues, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool and Moriarty will also play the May festival alongside Heartless Bastards, Conan Mockasin, Marina And The Diamonds.

The final confirmations added this afternoon (3 March) includes Meme Love and Miranda Lee Richards, with all joining the likes of Kasabian, British Sea Power and Passion Pit at the event.

The Great Escape 2009 will take place at various venues around Brighton, West Sussex from 14-16 May.

Tickets are already on sale priced at £39.50 for a festival wristband, which will give festival-goers access to all venues, subject to capacity.
