Standon Calling goes intergalactic for 2009

The event, which picked up the Best Innovation Award at the UK Festival Awards in 2008 for their underwater rave, will return to a secret venue near Standon from 31 July to 2 August.

Expect everything intergalactic as organisers announced that the event will feature NASA space camps, tethered hot air balloons, the annual fancy dress competition and Galileo’s Space Observatory.

No names have been announced for the festival, but early bird tickets have gone on sale priced at £70 for a weekend camping pass.

The festival will also include secret areas, cutting edge music, spoken word performances, art installations, interactive theatre, swimming pool - with underwater dance area - boutique camping and a children's area.
