The Orb, Roni Size top Knockengorroch bill
Dance legends headline the World Ceilidh

They will be joined by beatboxer Shlomo, Terrafolk, Daimh, Skilda,
Orkestra Del Sol and Erroll Linton’s Blues Vibe.
Michael Wadada,
Michael Marra, Paul McKenna and Neck are also set for the four-day festival
alongside Justin Adams And Juldeh Camara, Walter Strauss, Jacob’s Pillow
and Voces Del Sur.
Other confirmations include Joe Acheson Quartet, Tetchi,
Lyla Foy, Balkanarama, Black Cat, Mungo’s Hi Fi Sound System,
Swing Guitars, Banana Sessions, Disrupt, Rootah And Jahtari Riddim
Force, Phil Kay and Phil Nichol.
Aside from the music there will be
cabaret, comedy, cocktails, real ale, global food, stalls, camping, dance, heritage and arts workshops, fire shows, a healing
area, session villages, open fires, star gazing and more.
Speaking about the event, festival Director, Liz
Holmes said: "We’re inviting all who love the dynamic ambience of the World Ceilidh to kick
off their winter blues, forget the recession, and join us in the embracing hills of fairest Gallowa’ We’ve
kept ticket prices deliberately low this year so that more people can join us for Knockengorroch’s very own lovingly
home-grown fun!"
Knockengorroch - World Ceilidh 2009 will take place Knockengorroch
Farm, Carsphairn, Kirkubrightshire in Scotland from 21-24 May.
