Virtual Festivals' picks of 2009 Frank Turner
and Florence and The Machine will also appear
at the family friendly event alongside VV Brown, Blue Roses, Peggy
Sue and Welsh rapper Goldie Lookin' Chain.
Disco Bloodbath,
N Type and Balearic Brothers beef up the bill on DJ side along with We Are Your
Friends residents, Greg's Greats and Monsters At Work DJs who will present
The Psychedelic Sounds Of Monsterism Island.
Organisers have also announced more names for the comedy tent including
Ed Byrne, Maxwell's Fullmooners, Craig Campbell, Jim Jeffries,
Ian Stone and Carl Donnelly as well as Jason John Whitehead, Matt
Reed, Tiernan Douieb, Pros From Dover.
Also on the comedy side of things, 2009 will celebrate
the 25th anniversary of cult classic rockumentary 'Spinal Tap', and festival chiefs have decided to show the film
in its full glory at Lulworth Castle.
This year the festival will have 100 free things for kids to do, which will
include CBeebies star Mr Tumble aka Justin Fletcher and plenty more to keep the children quiet.

Speaking about today's announcement, organiser Rob Da Bank said: "Here we are again
spoiling ourselves and you lovely folk with more music and mayhem from the Camp Bestival...umm camp!
"Roy Ayers is simply one of the funkiest men on earth and has made some of my favourite ever records.
Florence
and The Machine smashed Lulworth Castle apart last year and aside from trying to get off with Chuck Berry onstage
she was one of the highlights so we've got her back! Blue Roses and Golden Silvers are colourful and kaleidoscopic new artists I’m loving and
I can’t wait to shout along to Goldie Lookin’ Chain...
"But I suppose the person I’m most
excited about seeing at Camp Besti is Mr Tumble (non parents may have to google him, parents will have watched him most days
of their parenthood!) and the 25th anniversary of Spinal Tap is well worth celebrating. Join us in the Big Top for a special
viewing with
guest speakers and tea and cakes!"
Camp Bestival 2009 will take place at Lulworth Castle, Dorset from 24-26
July.
It will also feature a literature arena and poets as well as over 100 free things to do for children.
The Bestival spin-off will also have a silent disco, coffee mornings, boutique camping and a River Cottage Café with
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.
Tickets are on sale now priced at £130 for
an adult weekend pass, with more prices available.
