The Leicestershire band will play the Eden Project in Cornwall on 4 July following the
release of their currently unnamed album on 1 June.
They join Oasis
who are already confirmed to play on 14 July after rescheduling their appearance from last September.
Speaking about today's confirmation, festival director Peter Hampel said: "We've
got our work cut out in 2009 to match last year's success, but Kasabian are without doubt, one of the world's top live acts and alongside Oasis, have given
us the best possible start."
Tickets for the Kasabian show will go on sale on 24 February at 6pm priced at £35.
The Eden Sessions 2009, which returns
for its eighth year this time around, will run over almost the entire summer.
Previous bands to have preformed
at the festival in the past include Kaiser Chiefs, KT Tunstall, The Verve
and The Raconteurs.
