Liverpool indie poppers The Wombats, Welsh rockers Super Furry Animals and Placebo
have also been confirmed along with a slew of dance acts including Rob
da Bank, DJ Yoda, Erol Alkan and Radio 1 tastemaker Zane
Lowe.
French house DJ David Guetta and Pete Tong will also head
to the Scottish Highlands come June as well as Crookers and Brodinski.
Speaking
about the latest additions to the festival, organiser Jim King said: "The new additions to this
year's line up are all fantastic acts. The Flaming Lips' live performances are always unique and fit right in to the
ethos of Rock Ness. It's going to be the first time they have played Scotland for a while and the band are promising to
come up with another spectacular show.
"The Super Furries are festival favourites of ours and we've been
after them for a couple of years so it's really brilliant they are with us this year especially with their new album.
Pete Tong, Erol Alkan, Zane Lowe, Robby da Bank and Crookers and not forgetting David Guetta mean that the famous Rock Ness
party vibe will continue strongly and that we'll definitely have the biggest party weekend of 2009."
Rock Ness 2009 will take place at Dores, on the shores of Loch Ness in Scotland
from 12-14 June with organisers expanding the festival to three days.
Tickets are on sale now
priced at £130 for a weekend pass or £139 with camping. Day tickets, campervan
passes and VIP tickets are also available. A £30 deposit scheme has also been setup.
