No metal headliners for Reading and Leeds?
Radiohead, Kings Of Leon, Arctic Monkeys instead?

No surprises? Radiohead are rumoured to be headlining Reading and Leeds

If the rumours turn out to be reliable and all three top the bill at the August Weekenders, it would leave no room for a
metal band to headline either festivals this summer.
According to Thrash Hits, and several other
sources, AC/DC will play Hard Rock Calling instead
of Reading and Leeds as predicted, which could mean that Download and new
event Sonisphere look most likely to split the remainder of rock and metal acts that are touring in 2009.
However Virtual Festivals have heard, from a source close to the band, that Nine Inch Nails are close to signing an agreement for Reading and Leeds 2009, which would
mean that the heavier side of rock wasn't completely overlooked at the festivals.
And finally, as one last
twist in today's rumour roundabout, Arctic Monkeys have
apparently cancelled all their French dates this summer, which could mean they're absent from the UK festival circuit
too.
Reliable French website Plus 2 Festival wrote: "According to our sources Arctic Monkeys have cancelled their summer
tour, at least in France."
Reading
Festival 2009 will take place at Little Johns Farm, Reading, while Leeds Festival 2009 is set to be held at Branham Park, Leeds.
Both run from 28-30 August and share the same line-up.
General release tickets are yet
to go on sale.
