Incredibly Strange Wrestling comes to Download Festival!

30 April 2003
Incredibly Strange Wrestling is the latest addition to the Deconstruction Tour 2003,
which Download is hosting on the second day of the festival. Screaming fans will get to witness El
Homo Loco groping his opponents into submission and El Pollo Diablo (The Devil Chicken) locked in
a struggle of food borne pathogens with El Hijo De Carne Asada (The Mad Cow). The Punching Primate
Macho Sasquatcho will be putting up his hard fought Incredibly Strange Championship belt
making it truly a world title. Former ISW champ El Gran Fangorio is sure to be in that title hunt.
Also
appearing on the tour will be the battling boy band 69 Degrees, Frankie Destruction Dee,
The Cruiser and the red-blooded, white and true blue American hero U.S. Steele who is sure
to be a big hit!
ISW is inspired by Lucha Libre, which is Mexican masked wrestling. The wrestling is extremely theatrical and emphasis is placed on speed, agility, and acrobatics rather than mere bulk and brute force as seen in traditional North American Wrestling. Take wrestlers in superhero costumes with outlandish names to match their flamboyant characters, let them loose in an 18 x 18 ring under the rule of a megalomaniac referee, and three high octane sets of music between matches, and what you get is an action packed evening of absolute mayhem. ISW toured the US with Vans Warped Tour in 2001, Lollapalooza in 1995 and on its own in 1997. ISW currently performs at the Fillmore in San Francisco.
