Both bands, which are also set to play at Oxegen 2009, will be joined by pop star Katy Perry.

The Killers are expected to be confirmed as third headliners for Scotland's biggest festival alongside Bloc Party and The Script.

All the names announced today will also appear at Ireland's Oxegen, which was named Best European Festival at the UK Festival Awards in 2008.

Traditionally the events share their line-ups as they both take place over the same weekend. It will be the third consecutive year that Kings Of Leon have played the event.

T In The Park 2009 will take place at Balado, Kinross-shire in Scotland from 10-12 July.

Tickets are on sale now priced at £160 for a weekend camping ticket, or £137 for a Saturday and Sunday pass without camping.

General tickets are yet to go on sale after early bird passes sold out before Christmas.

Home-grown favourites Franz Ferdinand and Glasvegas look likely to appear as well as Lily Allen.
