The band, made up of Paul and Phil Hartnoll, will play the Scottish event's main arena
on Saturday 13 June.
Festival organiser Jim King said: "Orbital are legends and they are a great addition to the Rock Ness Saturday night line up. Listening to
tracks like Chime and Belfast in such a dramatic setting is going to be a highlight of the weekend."
They
join The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, Dizzee Rascal and Biffy Clyro,
who were all previously confirmed.
Rock Ness 2009 will take place at Dores, on
the shores of Loch Ness in Scotland from 12-14 June with organisers expanding the festival to three days.
Tickets are on sale now priced at £130 for a weekend pass or £139 with
camping. Day tickets, campervan passes and VIP tickets are also available.
