Big Day Out Perth refused application

The event was set to take place at Claremont Showground, Western Australia, but council leaders can’t allow the show to go ahead as a point system, based on event capacity and alcohol consumption, has already been used up by V Festival.
The Western Australian newspaper wrote: "The council's policy on the showground says it can approve only one music event each year that scores more than 30 points in a formula based on factors such as size and alcohol consumption."
Big Day Out 2009, Perth is set to take place on 1 February, but if it were to go ahead at Claremont Showground, the council's point quota would be exceeded.
Tens of thousands of tickets have already been bought for the show, which is set to headlined by Neil Young and Arctic Monkeys.
