Merry Christmas from Virtual Festivals

2008 has been the most extraordinary year for music festivals that we've known. Never before has so much drama and emotion been crammed into one season. The weather may have been a damp constant, along with mounting economic gloom, but both were kicked into touch at every turn by the inspirational determination of you festival-goers to have a great time in spite of it all. That's definitely what the British do best!

We've compiled our best and worst bits of the year here for you to re-live:

>Virtual Festivals' A-Z of 2008

What 2008 has shown in an extreme way is that when the going gets tougher, the magic shines brighter. So expect to be utterly dazzled in 2009! There may well be turbulent times ahead, but you can be certain that they will be countered by some of the most incredible experiences and good times ever to be had in the festival fields.

Anyway, we're off for a little rest now, but we'll be back in January to bring you all the news and lowdowns before you hear it anywhere else, as the line-ups take shape.

We've got some huge plans for next year with some very exciting new developments for the website. Watch out for some special surprises as we celebrate our big tenth birthday too!

In the meantime, have a fantastic Christmas and a New Year. Rest up, and get set for a massive festival year!

With love,
