The contest, which has been running for the last four years, will pick two unsigned groups from the UK and Ireland to play
the UK's Best Major Festival next June.
One winner will be picked by Michael and Emily Eavis, Radio One's Huw Stephens and journalists from music publication Q and another 'wild card' choice will be selected by the public.
Artists wishing to take part must upload up two of their tracks to the competition website HERE before 26 January 2009. 12 acts will then go forward to a series of live finals in March.
The competition has brought The Subways, Scouting for Girls and Liz Green to prominence in the past.
Glastonbury Festival 2009 will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton in Somerset from 24-28 June with Franz Ferdinand, Razorlight, Blur and Kanye West listed as early rumours for the event.
Tickets are on sale now priced £175 for the weekend or registered festival-goers are able to put a deposit of £50 down now and pay the remainder of the balance by February 2009.
Click HERE to browse and buy. There is no limit to the amount of tickets that can be bought as long as they match a valid ticket number.
