Placebo to headline Nova Rock 2009

UK rockers first confirmed for Austria Festival

Placebo have been confirmed as the headliners for Austria's Nova Rock Festival.

It will be the first time the post-grunge outfit have appeared at a festival since headlining France's Musilac Festival in 2007.

They join German punks Die Toten Hosen at the festival, with more names expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Nova Rock Festival 2009 will be held at the Pollonia Fields II near the city of Nicklesdorf in eastern Austria between 19-21 June.

55,000 festival-goers are expected to attend next year's festival which celebrates its fifth birthday.
