Secret Garden Party wins Best Small Festival

Glade grabs Best Dance, Waveform wins A Greener Festival prize

Secret Garden Party took away the Best Small Festival honour at the UK Festival Awards this evening (30 October).

The Cambridge event, which was headlined by Grace Jones, took top honours in the category for the second time after winning in 2005.

Elsewhere Glade Festival won the Best Dance Festival award, the first time the accolade has been won by a festival other than Creamfields.

Another dance event, Waveform Festival, proved triumphant on the night by taking the A Greener Festival Award. The Wiltshire bash was selected as the most sustainable in the UK.

A Greener Festival is a kitemark for environmental sustainability at festivals and it requires the completion of a seven part questionnaire covering event management, travel and transport plans, CO2 emissions, fair trade, waste management and recycling, water management and noise pollution.
