The initiative, which is the first the AIF has unveiled since its formation this summer, has been set up
to address the issue of tent theft and campsite crime.
Only a small number of criminal gangs are acknowledged as
being responsible for the majority of theft onsite but the Task Force team will share intelligence in a hope to target the
gangs involved.
Speaking about the scheme, Bestival boss and AIF founder Rob Da Bank said: "Tent
theft at our festivals has always been very low, but any theft at all is really upsetting for the promoter and the people
involved.
"This was one of the main reasons I wanted to set up AIF and I really believe we can make a difference
with this initiative."
The Task Force will work with event security and the police to identify thieves
before they enter the site, with extra teams being on hand during busy weekends with multiple festivals.
The team
will be made available to all music festivals.
