Oasis have been confirmed as the final headliner for BBC Electric Proms.
The Manchester band will close the festival, performing at the Roundhouse in London on Sunday 26
The band are promising a special performance at the festival and will be accompanied by the Couch
End Festival Chorus, a 50-piece choir.
Speaking about the show Noel Gallagher said: "We
are doing the Electric Proms, and we're doing it with the Crouch End Choir as well... there's 50 odd of them...because
some of the songs on the album have got a 50 piece choir on them.
"So we're gonna do a night at the Proms
with that lot, it should be good actually… Ennio Morricone uses them for his spaghetti western stuff in England, so
I’m already looking forward to that because I’ve never played the Roundhouse and I’ve never done the Proms."
Other confirmations today include Ronan Keating, Stephen Gateley, Gabriella
Cilmi and Bryn Christopher, who will all perform as part of the special Saturday Night Fever show
with Robin Gibb at the Roundhouse on 25 October.
For the first
time in its history BBC Electric Proms will take place over two cities with London and Liverpool taking the
honours next month.
Tickets for the Oasis show go
on sale tomorrow (Tuesday 30 September) at 8.15 am with other tickets and prices for other
