No Coldplay, Stones, U2 for Glastonbury

But headliners should be booked 'pretty soon'

However in an interview with the BBC, the co-organiser has confirmed that the headliners should be booked 'pretty soon'.

Speaking to BBC News Eavis refused to name whom the festival had approached but did announce: "It's not Coldplay, it's not U2 and it's not the Rolling Stones."

When asked about booking bands earlier than ever before she said: "Because our tickets go on sale on 5 October, we've brought it forward.

"So we're ensconced in chat about next year and there's a lot of good feeling after such an amazing festival [this year].

"We're talking to a few people at the moment and I think pretty soon we'll have some stuff sorted."

Radiohead and Muse are the bookies favourites to headline at the moment but Eavis confirmed that they won't be booking a controversial act like last year's headliner Jay-Z.

She said: "We can't repeat that can we? That was amazing. Unfortunately you can only do something like that once."

Franz Ferdinand, The Ting Tings and The Travelling Band are likely to feature at the festival after playing the Pilton Equinox Party at Worthy Farm on Friday.

Franz Ferdinand had to perform some of their set acoustically after their drummer's wife went into labour in the morning.

Fans who have registered for Glastonbury tickets will be able to buy them at £175 from 5 October or alternatively place down a deposit of £50 and pay the remainder of the balance by 1 February 2009.

Glastonbury Festival 2009 will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton from 24-28 June.
