The Specials to reform for Bestival?

United Kingdom United Kingdom | | 01 September 2008

According to reliable IOW blog VentnorBlog the 80's ska troupe are favourites to fill the 'Surprise Act' slot on the main stage on the Saturday (6 September) evening following comments made by former singer Terry Hall on BBC Radio London.

The frontman, who appeared at last year's Bestival alongside former Specials' band member Lynval Golding, told the station that the band would be reforming for a festival in September.

Terry Hall is already likely to perform with the Dub Pistols in the Big Top on the Friday night, so an appearance with The Specials the following day could be on the cards.

Last year The Specials' 2-Tone contemporaries Madness took the same surprise slot on the main stage.

Bestival, which takes place at Robin Hill Country Park, Newport, Isle Of Wight from 5-7 September will be headlined by My Bloody Valentine, Amy Winehouse and Underworld.

Check out the stage splits, as confirmed earlier today HERE.
