The troubled singer looked composed throughout with a stylish ‘Me And Mrs Jones’ standing out in the relatively
polished Sunday evening set.
It was an improvement on her show at the Staffordshire sight the previous day
when she forgot her words on occasions and took to the stage with a glazed expression.
The singer did persist with
her mid-song mumblings but it didn’t detract from what turned out to be one of her best UK festival performances in
some time.
An Al Green inspired ‘Cupid’ was smoothly delivered, while ‘Wake Up Alone’ was
dedicated to her jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
Clutching her dress nervously throughout, by the time ‘Rehab’
and ‘Valerie’ brought the show to a close the star looked relieved and elated, echoing the sentiments of the crowd.
Earlier on the 4Music stage, The View debuted new songs from their forthcoming second album, including
their next single. But the stand out highlight was ‘Same Jeans’ which resonated with the festival crowd.
