The Verve deny V Festival cancellation

The rumours began when a story on Holy Moly reported that band member Nick McCabe had been sectioned following a show at Summer Sonic festival in Japan last weekend.
The guitarist was said to have been hospitalised after the festival and travelled home separately from the rest of his bandmates, including singer Richard Ashcroft.
The two creative forces share a chequered history and have fallen out on several occasions, twice resulting in the break up of the band.
But a spokesperson for The Verve has denied any reports of band tensions, and more importantly that McCabe was sectioned, instead saying the guitarist merely cut his finger.
The spokesman told NME.com: "Contrary to rumours circulating Nick McCabe cut his finger on
piece of glass in the dressing room after the gig in Japan.
"He was treated by medics at the scene and then
flew home. He's fine except for sore finger and that won't effect their appearance at V at the weekend."
The Verve are due to headline V Festival Staffs on
Saturday night (16 August) and Chelmsford on the following night (17 August).
