Summer Sundae returns with an extra day!

United Kingdom United Kingdom | | 10 April 2003

Now in its third year, this chilled-out music festival boasts an intimate, family-friendly atmosphere over two large-scale stages, one outdoor using De Montfort Hall's natural amphitheatre, and one indoor in the main hall.

The festival expands this year to include 2 brand new smaller-scale marquee stages, one stage for emerging artists and one for acoustic acts in association with the Musician, a live music venue in Leicester. The festival will also boast camping facilities at the adjacent green fields in the grounds of Regent College.

BBC 6 Music will again be present and transmitting live all weekend. You can access the BBC 6 Music network via DAB Digital Radio, Freeview, Digital Satellite, Digital Cable and www.bbc.co.uk/6music.

BBC 6 Music's Bob Harris, who introduced the bands on stage last year, commented on the festival "The view and sound for everyone was excellent, very intimate and just very, very nice." Richard Haswell, Manager at the Hall said "We are all very excited about how the festival is continuing to grow with new stages and camping being added this year for the first time." Richard added "We're pushing towards being one of the established national festivals of the summer calendar, which is helping to put Leicester on the map. Watch out for line-up announcements very soon."

The Summer Sundae Festival is delighted to be the first major music festival in the UK to participate in Oxfam's Festival Rewards Scheme. With £1 of the ticket price going direct to the charity, each ticketholder will receive access to a whole host of Freebies and Offers on a wide range of DVD's, CD's, Magazines, Books, Computer Games and Videos.

Full details of the line-up are still to be confirmed, more announcements will be made in the next few weeks...
