What is it?
The guys behind Glastonbury bringing you two shows in two days surrounded
by the beautiful Glastonbury Abbey.
When And Where?
8th and 9th August
at Glastonbury Abbey in Glastonbury. Doors open 5.30pm with a 7.30pm start. Tickets are £30 for adults and £15
for children (aged 6-16) on each day, with a £5 surcharge for tickets bought on the gate. There will be fireworks after
both shows, and it should all finish for 11pm.
Who’s playing?
Friday
8th August
Squeeze – Cool as cats
new wave band Squeeze have reformed again and will headline the Friday night.
Glenn Tilbrook, Chris Difford and co promise to bring back a few memories…
Lulu – As does everyone’s favourite and only UK Eurovision song contest winner Lulu. Not needing any backing from boy band members, she will make you wanna shout…
Saturday 9th August
The Feeling
– Pop band that have had enough air play and TV play for you to know the words to their catchy songs, even if you don’t
realise.
Kate Nash – Pop darling
that has spawned a fashion style for the late teenage generation. Just don’t heckle her or you will have a certain Crib
after you…
Be at Glastonbury Abbey Extravaganza if you like...
Summer
afternoons and evenings chilling out knowing that you are in the capable hands of the Glasto organisers, and that you don’t
have to stop and get stuck in the mud for it.
Avoid if you like...
A day packed
with hundreds of acts interspersed by loads of drunk people and nowhere to sit. This is a concert like you would
have in any venue, except this one has natural air conditioning…
Festival tactics
Parking is limited so it is best to use the free park and ride operation which begins at 4.30pm on both days from Clarks
Village. The last bus leaves one hour after the performance ends, giving you plenty of time to find lost folk and where you
were dropped off.
Fashionista or folky?
Saturday is Fashionista thanks
to the Nash, Friday is more nostalgia…
Alcohol of choice
There will
be a bar and food available.
Take your mum score
10/10 she will be taking
you…
Tickets are on sale from The Glastonbury Festival Office and Glastonbury Abbey Shop.
