Orange unveils Glastonbury mobile guide

Glastonbury Festival goers will be able to find their way around Worthy Farm and track down their favourite bands with a new mobile application from sponsors Orange.

Orange GlastoNav is a new interactive festival guide for mobiles which provides users with a detailed interactive festival map and the complete artist line-up.

The downloadable mobile application is also designed to ensure festivals goers stay connected with their friends throughout the three day festival. Once users have decided which bands they want to see they can plan a schedule and share their 'ones to watch' with their mates.

What's more, the Orange GlastoNav map will help people find their way around the festival site and enable people to share their festival location. Users can browse the map, pinpoint their exact position and tag their location with a personalised message. These details are then broadcast to their buddylist and will feature as a mini avatar on the map.

Orange GlastoNav has a number of other features including a bar guide, festival information and a guide to alternative areas to check out. Users will be updated regularly in the lead up to the festival and throughout the weekend using a combination of text messages and dynamic updates.

All messages are free of charge and will provide users with the very latest festival news and information. The application is available across all networks and on most phones with mobile internet (WAP) capabilities.

Hattie Magee, Head of Partnerships at Orange UK, said: "It's fairly easy to get lost at some stage during the Glastonbury Festival as is missing your favourite band because you've been distracted by other festival entertainment. We wanted to help festival goers by providing an extremely easy to use application to help ensure that people didn't miss out on the bands they've been waiting to see all year."
