Scottish favourites
Idlewild will make a triumphant return to Balado this year
to join in the celebrations at Scotland's biggest birthday party, T in the Park on 12th and 13th July. The
Flaming Lips also join the bill, with a King Tut's Tent headline. Watch out for astral acoustics
and fantastically bold sentiments, and perhaps the odd Robot costume. Also, confirmed for the King Tut's Tent are celtic favourites
Snow Patrol, The Basement and The Futureheads.
Following a
high pressure campaign from comedian Phil Kay, Radio 1 darlings and newcomers The Darkness
will open the Main Stage on Sunday, fresh from supporting Def Leppard on their UK tour.
In addition, ex-Symposium rockers Hell is for Heroes bring their hard earned (and well-deserved)
rock-stripes to Stage 2 on Sunday.
Other recent
announcements are Turin Brakes who fondly remember their performance at T in the Park 2001 as one of the
highlights of their career. Six-piece Philadelphia hip hop outfit The Roots join them on Stage 2
bringing their innovative rhymecraft, jazzy instrumentation and human beatbox to the festival.
With only 3
weeks left to go on the special discounted weekend tickets, those hoping to attend this year's event should get in early.
