The first ever People’s Choice Tartan Clef Award will celebrate the explosion of live music at festivals and gigs around Scotland by recognising one special performance.
Bands don't have to be Scottish, they just need to have played in the country between June last year and August this year. I could be anyone from Jesus And Mary Chain at Connect to Arctic Monkeys at T In The Park, or whoever does the business this summer.
You can nominate your favourites HERE before the top choices are put to a public vote last this summer.
Kirsty Innes from VisitScotland said: “People from all over the world regularly choose to come to Scotland to experience our great live music scene, including some of the best music festivals such as T In The Park, Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, Belladrum and Connect.
“Through the nominations for our Best Live Act award, we hope that these people will use their personal experiences to celebrate Scotland’s world class musical events and festivals."
The Tartan Clef Awards help raise money for the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, which provides over 30,000 sessions for children and adults at over 50 projects throughout the country.
Donald MacLeod, Chair of the Tartan Clef Music Award committee, said: “We are delighted that this award will not only showcase one of the best live music destinations in the world, but also provide much needed support for a fantastic charity that makes an important difference to many families.”
