Ex-Clash man for Love Music Hate Racism Carnival

The free event, which marks the 30th anniversary of the original anti-racism concert, will take place at Victoria Park, Hackney, London on 27 April.

Simonon, who played in 1978 with The Clash, will return with his latest super-group with includes Blur’s Damon Albarn, The Verve’s Simon Tong and Afrobeat pioneer Tony Allen.

Another super-group confirmed for the one-day event is Helsinki. The band will include Babyshambles bassist Drew McConnell, Reverend and the Makers singer Jon McClure, ex-Arctic Monkeys bassist Andy Nicholson, The Pan I Am’s Ed Larrikin and Poly Styrene from X-Ray Spex.

Other names already on the bill include Jerry Dammers, The Padddingtons, Roll Deep, Fionn Regan, Tom Robinson and Natty. Click HERE for the full line-up.
