Move 2003 - The Plot thickens!
United Kingdom | |
05 March 2003
Industry rumours
had been flying around for a while about the prospect of the Boss himself, Mr. Bruce Springsteen and his E Street
Band, making an appearance on the first day (July 10). Well, fellow old timer David Bowie took that
slot last year, so it didn't seem seem that unlikely an idea to us. However, this speculation was soon put paid by the announcement
that Springsteen was indeed performing an outdoor gig at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground - but a few weeks before Move,
on May29 (click
here for tickets).
And then a little bird told us that Badly Drawn Boy and The Charlatans were tipped to appear. This added up, as, if you remember our coverage from last year,
Tim Burgess and Damon Gough were practically stalking us for the whole festival! Sex Pistol
John Lydon was also spotted sipping cocktails in the backstage bar, so you never know... According to our
lovely friends at Efestivals.com (bless their cotton socks), The Manic Street Preachers may also be headlining
one of those first two days.
If the festival's as good as the intriguing rumours it's been generating, it should be
a good 'un (if last year was anything to go by).
