Super Furry Animals and more for Kendal Calling
United Kingdom | 20 March 2008
Super Furry Animals, Dizzee Rascal and Scratch Perverts are among the acts confirmed for this year's Kendal Calling.
The three-day event takes place at Grate Farm from 1-3 August.
Super Furry Animals, Dizzee Rascal, Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip and Scratch Perverts are confirmed for grass roots festival, which was set up three years ago by two young local promoters.
20:20 Soundsystem, Howard Marks, Bookhouse Boys, Lowline featuring Nick McCabe, The Keptones, Sex & Circuitary, Frank Sidebottom and 3 Daft Monkeys are also on the bill, with more to be confirmed.
After two successful sold-out events and high demand, the festival has added another day and is doubling it's capacity to 4000, as well as adding a folk/roots tent, comedy and cabaret.
A spokesman said: "Bands don’t just ‘play’ Kendal Calling, they are actively involved in the minutia of artistic decision making. They want to be there as much as the fans and because of that, quite literally anything could happen.
"This is a festival based around having a good time, quality acts and originality rather than media hype and the latest 'now' bands all set in the beautiful surrounding of the Lake District."
