V Festival headliners announced

The Verve have been announced as the second headliner for V Festival, with Amy Winehouse, Kings Of Leon and many more also confirmed.

Richard Ashcroft's reformed band join previously announced headliners Muse at the top of the bill.

Also confirmed are Amy Winehouse, Kings Of Leon, Stereophonics, Kaiser Chiefs, The Prodigy, The Kooks, The Zutons, The Pigeon Detectives, Lenny Kravitz, Maximo Park, Ian Brown and The Chemical Brothers.

Others for the August festival include Girls Aloud, Newton Faulkner, The Pogues, The Charlatans, The Hoosiers, Reverend And The Makers, The Feeling and Alanis Morissette.

V Festival 2008 takes place at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, and Weston Park, Staffs, on 16-17 August.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday, 7 March. The full line up so far is as follows:
