Second act confirmed for Bestival

Chas and Dave have been confirmed as the second act for this year's Bestival, which will take place at Robin Hill Country Park, Newport on the Isle of Wight over 5-7 September.

It will be the second time the cockney duo have played the festival after an appearance at the inaugural event.

The pair, famous for tracks 'Snooker Loopy' and 'Rabbit' will join British Sea Power who have already self-confirmed for the festival.

VentnorBlog, an Isle of Wight weblog, confirmed the Bestival’s the couple. They wrote: “Rob da Bank tells VentnorBlog that after having them play in 2004 he’s been trying to book them again ever since.

“In fact he was so keen to have them play this year that he booked them just before Bestival 2007 because [he] wanted to make sure [he] got them.”

Rob Da Bank also confirmed that around 70 acts are already booked for the event with the first announcement due next week.

Other acts rumoured for the event include Dolly Parton, MGMT, The Pan I Am, Florence And The Machine and Hot Chip.
