Fatboy Slim plots beach party

Plans for the bash, which will be headlined by the DJ, have been approved by members of the policy and resources committee of Brighton & Hove City Council.

The event, to be organised by promoters Loudsound Events, will take place over two days on Friday and Saturday 26-27 September from 5pm - 9.30pm.

It will be held on Madeira Drive, a wide road next to the beach which is often used for car rallies and other gatherings.

Under the plans, up to 22,000 people willl be admitted each night and as previously, those with a Brighton postcode will be offered tickets first.

Fatboy Slim has held three previous parties on Brighton Beach, most famously in 2002 when an estimated quarter of a million people packed the free festival. He has also hosted beach parties in Brazil, Argentina and Australia.
