United Kingdom | |
07 February 2008
The band, voted 'Festival Feel-Good Act' at last year's UK Festival Awards, will perform on the Friday night with several more also just confirmed.
Fairport's Cropredy Convention takes place in the village of Cropredy, near Banbury in Oxfordshire, from 7-9 August.
Other acts just confirmed are Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis and her band, as well as two BBC Radio 2 Folk Award winning duos, John Tams and Barry Coope and Jeana Leslie and Siobhan Miller.
It is expected that Fairport Convention, who conceived the festival in the 1970s, will also play the event.
The popular festival attracts up to 20,000 music fans and last year all tickets were sold weeks before the gates opened. Expect more rock, pop and acoustic acts to be added in due course.
