Eavis made the revelation to BBC Somerset.
In an exclusive interview with Virtual Festivals recently (here) he explained his decision to book the star, saying: "He’s a well respected rap star, who the kids love to bits, and he’s going to have some really famous people with him as well."
He added: "It’s going to be a good show. I’m sure its going to be a mega attraction and the fact we’re doing something new shows we’re not afraid to change things in order to be bold and to be full of ambition. I’ve been doing that for 38 years now.
"We’re not afraid of sticking our necks out. I don’t want to get into grooves we can’t get out of, so the main headline slot is going to be interesting.”
The only other acts confirmed to appear at the festival are Neil Diamond and Leonard Cohen, both scheduled for the Sunday.
Once again, if you want to buy a ticket to this year's festival you will need to register at http://www.glastonburyregistration.co.uk before midnight on Friday 14th March. Tickets will go on sale to those who have registered at 9am on Sunday 6th April.
Glastonbury Festival 2008 will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, near Glastonbury, Somerset from Friday 27th to Sunday 29th June, with the gates opening for early arrivals on Wednesday 25th June.
Stay posted for more announcements and rumours over the coming weeks.
