Register next month for Glastonbury Festival

08 January 2008

As part of the festival's continuing campaign to combat touting, fans will first have to register.

“I want to keep up the momentum we gathered last year by stopping ticket touting altogether,” Eavis explained. “Thank you for being so supportive of our registration process, which is after all quite tedious. I appreciate it so much.”

The 2008 registration process is very similar to last year’s award winning system, which involved supplying contact details and a standard passport photo.

Everyone, including children aged 13 and over, who wants to buy tickets will need to register first to be eligible to go through the sales procedure on 6 April. Each ticket sold will feature a photograph of the person in whose name it is registered and will be non-transferable. So if anybody plans to buy tickets for friends or family, make sure they all register.

You can register at any time from 9am on Friday 1 February 2008 until midnight on Friday 29 February, either online – via www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk - or by completing a registration form.

Forms will be available from any branch of Millets, the high street camping store, or by sending a stamped addressed envelope to Glastonbury Registration, Millets, Mansard Close, Westgate, Northampton NN5 5DL.

Registration does not reserve or guarantee you a ticket but if you don’t register you will not be able to buy a weekend ticket for Glastonbury Festival 2008, which takes place at Worthy Farm, Pilton over the weekend 27-29 June.

Bands rumoured to be performing include Radiohead, The Verve, REM, Muse and Led Zeppelin.
