QOTSA and Audioslave for Revived Lollapalooza!

| 14 February 2003

Janes Addiction frontman Perry Farrell, who has been organising the event since 1991, said of the five year hiatus,"It's never a bad idea to take a rest, especially when you're exhausted - think about things and re-strategise and wait for the perfect wave. You sit out in the line up and you wait for the waves to come and the waves come in sets. At this time, with the music industry the way it is, the bands that are out there, and our availability, it just seems like this was the perfect wave."

Audioslave (and former Rage Against the Machine) guitarist Tom Morello revealed that the festivals will aim to promote awareness of 'Axis of Justice' and he said, "I think that's what really separates Lollapalooza from any other tours that are going out this summer - it's the incredible music, it's the ideas contained in the concert and it's the community it builds among bands among fans. It's unlike anything else going out for the last five years. It's certainly not like anything else going on this summer and we're really proud to be a part of it."

The festival line up will roll through 28 U.S. cities in July and August of this year, though dates and venues are yet to be confirmed. Watch this space!
