The singer vows never to play England again

The 53-year-old songwriter played an early evening Friday slot two years ago and when he asked about how it went he said:
“Fucking dreadful! I don’t care if I ever play England again.”
The expatriate has lived
in America for 25 years but when speaking about his Worthy Farm appearance ‘Oliver’s Army’ singer said:
“That gig made up my mind I wouldn’t come back.”
However Costello did
return for a gig at Liverpool’s Picket Club back in July, so don’t count him off any rumour list just yet.
