Bestival stage breakdown released
United Kingdom | |
04 September 2007
As previously announced The Chemical Brothers,
The Beastie Boys and Primal Scream fill the Main Stage headline spots over the weekend.
A Surprise
Guest is also scheduled for 6.15pm on Saturday night’s Main Stage. The slot is traditionally the performance that
greets the annual fancy dress march.
Curator Rob Da Bank has moved from his usual festival closing
slot in the Bollywood Bar to the penultimate Sunday set on the Main Stage. The vacant spot is to be filled by another
Surprise Guest.
The Bollywood Bar can also expect sets from Radio 1’s Annie Mac, Mixmaster
Morris, Dexy’s Midnight Runners’ Kevin Rowland and a Balearic selection
from Yousef.
The Specials' Terry Hall will be joined onstage by
ex-band member Lynval Golding to play together for the first time since the group split in the 80s.
The pair are set to perform with The Dub Pistols in the Big Top on Sunday night.
The Big Top will
also have live sets from Simian Mobile Disco and recent chart-topper Robyn, as well as a
DJ set from the Trojan Sound System.
The festival has also announced the Jestival
arena. The new tent will be showcasing comedic talent from the likes of Phill Jupitus, Marcus Brigstocke
and acts fresh from this year's Edinburgh Festival.
Another inaugural arena appearing at this year’s
event is the House of Bamboo. The tent, named after a film noir from the 1950’s, will host the
likes of Alice Russell, The Egg, Kid Carpet and Max Sedgley.
Organisers have left a little space for quirkiness though with the world’s smallest club, Miniscule of
Sound, set to hold their own fetish night. Dominatrix doormen will be on the entrance to check attire, but
fetish gear, whips and dress up will be available.
