Road to V winners announced
The Brightlight and Rosalita are V Festival's opening acts

17 August 2007
The acts were whittled down from nearly 2,000 entrants and will open the Channel 4 Stage at Hylands Park, Staffordshire
and Weston Park, Chelmsford. The two bands will share the stage with the likes of Basement Jaxx, Lily
Allen and The Kooks.
Rosalita’s Ben Groom said:
“It’s fantastic, we were a bit numb when we found out, you kind of you have this initial jumping around phase,
then you sit down and think about it and you think - this is actually amazing, this is going to be fantastic.”
Music industry experts selected the victors from the 14 finalists after considering feedback fans had left on RoadToV.com.
The Feeling’s Dan Gillespie and James Endecott, who signed The
Libertines and The Strokes, were among the panellists.
Mags, of Metropolis
Music, said: “We weren’t looking for any particular style of band, just quality, and both Rosalita
and The Brightlights have quality in abundance, especially live. They’ll both be worthy openers of
V Festival.”
The bands join the list of previous winners which includes The
Young Knives, Keith and Bombay Bicycle Club.
Virtual Festivals
will be following their progress over the weekend as well as bringing back all the action from the two sites.
