Record break attempt at Bloom
United Kingdom | 08 August 2007
The boutique festival near Bristol hopes to smash the current quota of 260 people as excitable hordes battle it out.
The fun and games will take place on the Saturday afternoon, when a Bestival-like fancy dress party is being planned.
Organisers Thumbs Alofts Sell By Dave said: "Ever since we watched Record Breakers on TV as kids, weve wanted to set a Guinness World Record - if only so we could meet Roy Castle. Unfortunately the latter wont be happening, but were still keen to break a record.
"As were not very good at anything except playing records and dancing like idiots, we thought the best way forward would be to play the largest game of musical statues the worlds ever seen. We cant promise jelly and ice cream for everyone afterwards or even party bags, but it should be a lot of fun!"
Thousands are expected at only the second Bloom Festival, which will feature sets by Dub Pistols, Aim, Coldcut, The Earlies and many more.
Despite the majority of tickets already sold, festival goers can buy up to the very last minute through the revolutionary Tixmob system which sends your pass directly to your mobile phone.
Weekend tickets cost £85 while day passes cost £35. Buy Bloom tickets via Tixmob HERE.
Other attractions include comedy, acrobats, a rocket launch party, massage, reiki and, as previously reported, a predicted meteor shower on the Sunday night. And what's more, the festival has got its hands on a 24-hour license!
