Global Gathering site weathers the storm

Despite nearby Stratford Upon Avon suffering heavy floods, the festival site in Long Marston has not been affected and is more than five miles away from the worst hit areas.
The sodden Midlands town became a hive of media attention over the weekend, prompting festival organisers to allay fears that the dance weekend could be under threat.
It follows a number of festivals badly affected or cancelled because of the recent rain, including Truck, Wakestock and Glade.
Unlike those events, Global Gathering take place on a disused airfield which has quality drainage systems already built in.
Global
Gathering boss James Algate said: “We are expecting 45,000 people to have the weekend of their
lives and wish to reassure ticket holders that after being on site for the past week, the airfield is unaffected and the production
is looking stronger than ever.”
Basement Jaxx
and Faithless are among the acts playing the dance festival.
Tickets are still on sale via the links above.
Virtual Festivals will be on site with our video blog
crew so look out for us! And if you need any advice getting to and from Long Marston, visit our Travel Section which is brought to you by The AA.
