First day mud mayhem at Glastonbury

Heavy rain pummeled Glastonbury Festival for the third consecutive time today (Friday), turning Worthy Farm into a mud bath.
Black clouds rolled over Pennard Hill all day, dousing festival goers with colossal showers.
But the weather failed to dampen spirits as more than 100,000 revellers partied in the sludge.
The site also seemed up to the task and measures by organisers to avoid a repeat of 2005, when thick mud caused lots of logistical problems and injuries, seem to have worked.
According to one mud specialist: "There have been no reports of any rain related problems. There's ground water, which has made the site muddy, but its nothing like the situation in 2005 when the campsites were flooded.
"We're hoping this is the last day of heavy rain. Everyone seems to be having a good time and it's not washed out the spirit."
It looks like Saturday will have another wet start, however it is forecast to clear up by the afternoon.
