Libertines to play at Glastonbury?
Pete and Carl to play acoustic set together

18 June 2007
The Mirror has sensationally suggested that The Libertines are going to reunite at Glastonbury to perform an acoustic set. The newspaper has hinted the pair will play together again as they did during ‘An Evening With Pete Doherty’ at Hackney Empire on 12 April.
Doherty’s Babyshambles and Barat’s Dirty Pretty Things are both playing on the acoustic stage the newspaper has suggested, but Barat’s band are lined up to play the Pyramid Stage and Doherty’s group The Other Stage on 23 June.
The newspaper’s source said: “The Hackney Empire gig reminded
them of how well they used to work together before the band fell apart and they wanted to see if they could recreate that
chemistry at Glastonbury.”
Stranger things have happened at the festival. The ex-Libertines
recently recorded together for the first time since the band split when they performed a rendition of The Beatles
‘A Day In The Life’ for Radio 2 last week. The Libertines
did appear at Glastonbury in 2003 but Pete Doherty was absent for the band's line-up.
