Get on stage at Retrofest!
'80s talent comp announced

United Kingdom | 26 April 2007
The '80s themed festival, which takes place at Culzean Castle, Ayrshire, on 1-2 September, will feature performances by Bananarama, Human League, Howard Jones, ABC, Go West, Jimmy Somerville and Tony Hadley, among others.
But organisers want to bring festival goers in on the act too, offering a three-song slot on Sunday's main stage to one dazzling singer or duo.
Even more enticing perhaps, they haven't ruled out the possibility of getting the very worst entry on stage too.
Promoter
for Retrofest, Brad Snelling, said: “There’s a strong legacy of solo acts and duos playing
at festivals and Retrofest certainly doesn’t want to be any different.
“Acts like The Proclaimers,
Hue and Cry, The Eurythmics are all classic duos and the list of successful solo singer/songwriters is longer than the all
the shoulder pads worn in the eighties so we’re happy to help give someone a bit of exposure. And we might have them
back at the 2008 Retrofests if they are really good."
Despite the obvious retro theme, acts don't necessarily
have to sing '80s songs, however organisers say they should use the decade as their "inspiration".
Anyone wanting to be considered for playing should email newacts@retrofest.co.uk
with their samples, which can be one or two songs but must be under 4MB in size and in MP3 format. Closing date for entries
is 15 July.
Tickets to the event are on sale now, priced £75 for the weekend or £45 for day tickets. Click HERE to buy.
