Keane and Placebo to headline Fflam

Keane and Placebo have been announced as headliners of the first ever Fflam Festival in south-west Wales. Welsh rockers Feeder and the Manic Street Preachers are also on the bill...

Fflam Festival 2007 takes place in Swansea's Singleton Park from 13-15 July.

Keane have been confirmed to headline the Friday with Manic Street Preachers second on the bill.

Saturday will see Placebo heading the lineup with support from Feeder, Enter Shikari and The Levellers.

Organisers claim the new Fflam festival could become as big as Scotland's T In The Park event with more than 50 bands playing across four stages to 30,000 festival-goers in its first year.

Another major artist is expected to be announced in the coming weeks to headline the last night of the festival. The three-day event will also showcase dozens of unsigned artists from the local area.

John Curd, of Straight Music, said: "Our aim is that Fflam will become to Wales what T in the Park is to Scotland.

"We see this as a long-term investment in Wales, driven by our passion for quality music and giving great value for money.

"As well as giving locals the chance to see some of the best live bands around, we are also dedicated to nurturing new talent and the full line up will reflect that.

"Fflam will put Wales firmly on the festival map for years to come."
