06 November 2002
The festival will grow to two days, this year, and will take place on June 7 and 8, with an increased capacity
of 20,000 per day (up from 15,000 last year. The organises have revealed that they are prepared to compete with Glastonbury by
scheduling the event in the same month.
They stated, "It is at the end of the exams and still long way away from the
Reading and V festivals. The intention is to go ahead of Glastonbury. I will be spending a lot more on headline acts
this year, and I am in negotiations with acts at the moment, but I don't want to say who."
Last year's festival, featured The Charlatans, Starsailor, Hundred Reasons, The Coral and Robert Plant, attracting less-than-capacity
crowds of around 10,000.
Tickets will be priced £50 for the weekend and £30 per day, with camping £10 extra, and discounted
ferry prices.
