Bloc Party confirm festivals

...oh yeah and Reading Festival too, but we're not sure if you can qualify the air there as "country", it being on a motorway and all that.

The T In The Park date would also suggest the band performing at Oxegen in Ireland.

Bloc Party have been bemoaning the evils of urban dwelling recently, their second album 'A Weekend In The City' painting a damning picture of a London full of coke-caining pre-madonnas alongside paranoid suicidals. Maybe a few weekends away is a good thing.

All the same, bassist Gordon Moakes didn't seem too sure about it all. 

He told 6 Music: "I don't know which ones have been announced from which one's haven't, I know we're playing T In The Park, I think we're playing Reading Festival and Glastonbury, so I think we'll be ever-present over the summer."

An lineup announcement is expected by T In The Park later today. Bloc Party will no doubt be hoping the idiots who threw a coin at them in Aberdeen last week decides not to buy a ticket.
