If You Tolerate This Stereophonics Will Be Next

This year's
veteran V Festival headliners, Manic Street Preachers,
mark their thirteen year history with the release of their retrospective 'Forever Delayed' compilation LP.
Cardiff's Virgin Megastore will open at Midnight, on Sunday 27th October, to allow fans to be the first in the country to
buy their. The first 30 fans to arrive will also each receive a signed pack of exclusive limited edition Manics postcards,
as depicted on the 'Forever Delayed' coversleeve.
The Manics
have already induced mayhem in Cardiff this month. A thousand fans braved the elements to meet the band face-to-face
last week to get their hands on signed copies of 'There By The Grace of God' (one of two new tracks on the
record) at Virgin Megastore Cardiff. Travelling in from all over the country the queue started building at 2.30am....water
off a duck's back for an avid Manic's fan! The band then went on to play a storming warm-up set for
the Wales vs Italy Game at the packed Millennium Stadium.
The band will
be back in Cardiff on Monday 18th November, playing an intimate, once in a lifetime performance at St. David's Hall. It's
the third in the series of Carling Homecoming gigs and has a capacity of just 800.
The austere
St David's Hall as a location has resonated throughout the lifetime of Manic Street Preachers. Nick, Sean, James and Richey saw their first ever gigs at St David's Hall
- The Alarm, Gary Numan and Spear Of Destiny. The venue was also home to
the Home International Darts - a favourite of Nick's and as a schoolboy Sean played the trumpet in a brass band in the Hall.
Most
importantly, as teenagers Nick and James used to busk outside St David's Hall and it is where they got their name - a passerby
commented on James' ranting busker style: 'He's a manic street preacher'. The name stuck. Now for the first time only, fans
will have a chance to see the band play their ultimate gig.
'Carlinglive
Presents' is an exclusive series of tours taking place throughout the year, allowing fans the chance to see the bands
behind the headlines, and for those not lucky enough to make it onto the guestlist for the Manics' tiny gig (no tickets are
available to buy), you can catch them traversing the land alongside VF's favourite mic master, Ian Brown, as part of Carlinglive's first tour. Buy your tickets here.
